Mitchell Starc’s statement
Despite his exit from international T20 cricket, he is optimistic about continuing to play in various T20 leagues like the Big Bash League and IPL. In a statement, Mitchell Starc expressed that Test cricket has always been his primary focus and that he has cherished every moment spent in T20I cricket for Australia, particularly during the 2021 World Cup, which he enjoyed not only for the victories but also for the fantastic team and the enjoyable journey.
He also mentioned that he believes participating in an overseas Test series in India, the Ashes, and the 2027 ODI World Cup is the best approach for him to remain fit and perform at his peak for those competitions. Additionally, he noted that this choice will allow the bowling group ample time to prepare for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
