Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis (c) got off to a great start for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. At the end of the first 6 overs of Powerplay, Royal Challengers Bengaluru scored 79 runs without losing any wickets. But Virat Kohli got out in the 7th over, he scored 42 runs in 20 balls. He hit 6 fours and 2 sixes. After that, Will Jacks was run out unfortunately. Rajat Patidar couldn’t contribute much, he scored 9 runs. Faf du Plessis was playing brilliantly but got out in the 10th over. He was dismissed by Pat Cummins. On the last ball of this over, Pat Cummins dismissed Saurav Chauhan, who scored 0 runs. At the end of 10 overs, Royal Challengers Bengaluru lost 5 wickets and scored 122 runs.
At this time it seemed that Royal Challengers Bengaluru might not be able to score too many runs. But Dinesh Karthik played exceptionally well and his aggressive batting kept Royal Challengers Bangalore in contention to win the match. He scored 83 runs in 35 balls. He hit 5 fours and 7 sixes.
