The 29th Match of IPL 2024 was organized at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super King. Mumbai Indians won the toss and chose to bowl.
Chennai Super Kings Innings:
Chennai Super Kings did not start well as Ajinkya Rahane got out in the second over after scoring 5 runs off Gerald Coetzee. The other opener captain Ruturaj Gaikwad was playing well. At the end of 6 overs of power play, Chennai Super Kings lost 1 wicket and scored 48 runs.

Mumbai Indians started well as Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan started playing very aggressively. At the end of 6 overs of power play, Mumbai Indians scored 63 for no loss.
Matheesha Pathirana dismissed Ishan Kishan in the 8th over. Ishan Kishan scored 23 runs in 15 balls. He hit 3 fours and 1 six. Suryakumar Yadav got out on the third ball of this over without scoring any runs. Mustafizur Rahman took a great catch on the boundary line.
Tilak Varma played well coming to bat at the 2nd down. Tilak Varma made 31 off 20 balls with 5 fours. After Tilak Varma got out in the 14th over, Hardik Pandya could not stay on the wicket for long, he got out after scoring 2 runs in the 16th over.
Tim David was dismissed in the 17th over, he scored 13 runs off 5 balls with 2 sixes off Mustafizur Rahman. Matheesha Pathirana dismissed Romario Shepherd with a brilliant delivery in the 18th over.
The wicket was falling at one end and Rohit Sharma was playing steadily at the other end. He remained unbeaten on 105 off 63 balls and hit 11 fours and 5 sixes. But despite his outstanding performance, Mumbai Indians scored 186 runs at the end of 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets.
For Chennai Super Kings, Matheesha Pathirana took 4 wickets and Mustafizur Rahman and Tushar Deshpande took 1 wicket each.
