Rachin Ravindra and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad came to open for Chennai Super Kings. Rachin Ravindra got out of the first ball of the 4th over. He was dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. At the start of the Sunrisers Hyderabad innings, Travis Head could have been dismissed as his catch was dropped at the first slip off Chahar’s second ball of the first over. Another opener Abhishek Sharma scored 26 off Mukesh Choudhary in the second over. In the third over, Abhishek Sharma started playing similarly aggressively but was dismissed by Deepak Chahar on the 4th ball of the over. He played a magnificent innings of 37 off 12 balls which included 3 fours and 4 sixes.
Aiden Markram then came in to bat, he and Travis Head put on a partnership of 60 runs. Travis Head was dismissed by Maheesh Theekshana in the 10th over. Travis Head scored 31 off 24 balls, hitting 3 fours and 1 six. Aiden Markram scored 50 off 36 balls. He hit 4 fours and 1 six. 34 runs off 36 balls were needed to win when he was bowled in the last ball of the 14th over. After that, Shahbaz Ahmed was also dismissed for 18 runs but Heinrich Klaasen (wk) and Nitish Reddy both took the team to the target with 11 balls remaining. They both remain unbeaten at 10 and 14 runs respectively.
