The 12th match of IPL 2024 was held at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad between Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bat.
Sunrisers Hyderabad Innings:
Sunrisers Hyderabad openers Mayank Agarwal and Travis Head started the innings well. The first wicket fell in the 5th over. Azmatullah Omarzai dismissed Mayank Agarwal. Abhishek Sharma comes to bat on first down. He started batting aggressively. At the end of 6 overs of power play, Sunrisers Hyderabad lost 1 wicket and scored 56 runs.
At the other end of the wicket Travis Head was dismissed by Noor Ahmad in the 7th over. After that, Abhishek Sharma got out on the ball of Mohit Sharma in the last ball of the 10th over. He scored 29 runs in 20 balls with the help of 2 fours and 2 sixes. At the end of 10 overs, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 74 runs for the loss of 3 wickets.
Heinrich Klaasen was playing brilliantly, but was bowled out by Rashid Khan in the 14th over. He scored 24 runs off 13 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes. Then Aiden Markram went back in the 15th over. He was dismissed by Umesh Yadav.
At the end of the innings, courtesy of Shahbaz Ahmed and Abdul Samad, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 162 runs after 20 overs. Shahbaz Ahmed scored 22 runs off 20 balls and Abdul Samad scored 29 runs off 14 balls. Abdul Samad hit 3 fours and a six.
Mohit Sharma was the most successful bowler of Gujarat Titans. He took 3 wickets. Umesh Yadav, Rashid Khan, Azmatullah Omarzai, and Noor Ahmad took 1 wicket each.
Gujarat Titans Innings:
Gujarat Titans started the innings very well. Their two openers Wriddhiman Saha and captain Shubman Gill were playing aggressively. Shahbaz Ahmed dismissed Wriddhiman Saha on the first ball of the 5th over. He scored 25 runs off 13 balls and hit 1 four and 2 sixes.
After that, the partnership of Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan made 38 runs. When it looked like Shubman Gill would score big runs today, he was dismissed by Mayank Markande in the first ball of the 10th over. He scored 36 off 28 balls with 2 fours and 1 six. With the target of 163 runs, Gujarat Titans lost 2 wickets and scored 78 runs after the first 10 overs.
Sai Sudharsan and David Miller then put on a partnership of 64 off 42 balls. This partnership forms the basis of Gujarat Titans victory today. Sai Sudharsan scored 45 runs in 36 balls. He hit 4 fours and 1 six. Pat Cummins dismissed him on the first ball of the 17th over.
But this wicket could not bring Sunrisers Hyderabad back into the game as David Miller was brilliant. David Miller remained unbeaten on 44 off 27 balls till the end. He hit 4 fours and 2 sixes. Vijay Shankar scored an unbeaten 14 off 11 balls. David Miller hit a six when the team needed 1 run to win.
Pat Cummins, Shahbaz Ahmed, and Mayank Markande took 1 wicket each for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
