IPL 2024 Match 10 – Royal Challengers Bengaluru Vs Kolkata Knight Riders

The tenth match of IPL 2024 between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders was held at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru Innings:

Captain Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli came in to open for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. But Royal Challengers Bengaluru didn’t get off to a good start as Harshit Rana dismissed Faf du Plessis in the second over, who scored just 8 runs. But Virat Kohli and Cameron Green then put on a partnership of 65 runs. Cameron Green was sent back by Andre Russell in the ninth over. Cameron Green scored 34 runs off 21 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes.

After that, Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell made a partnership of 42 runs. Glenn Maxwell was dismissed by Sunil Narine in the 15th over. Glenn Maxwell scored 28 runs off 19 balls with 3 fours and 1 six. Then Rajat Patidar and Anuj Rawat could not contribute much to the team’s score, they both scored 3 runs.

Kolkata Knight Riders Innings:

For Kolkata Knight Riders, two openers Philip Salt and Sunil Narine got off to a great start. In the first 6 overs of the power play, they made a partnership of 85 runs. Such a great start pretty much decided the fate of the match as 98 runs were needed to win with 14 overs remaining and 10 wickets in hand.

After that in the seventh over, Sunil Narine was bowled out by Mayank Dagar. He played a brilliant innings of 47 runs off 22 balls, which included 2 fours and 5 sixes. Philip Salt was dismissed in the 8th over, he was dismissed by Vijaykumar Vyshak. Philip Salt scored 30 runs off 20 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes.

Despite the dismissal of the two openers, Royal Challengers Bengaluru could not bounce back in the match as Venkatesh Iyer and Shreyas Iyer put on a partnership of 75 off 44 balls. Venkatesh Iyer played an innings of 50 runs off 30 balls with 3 fours and 4 sixes and was dismissed by Yash Dayal in the 16th over. After that, Shreyas Iyer hit a 6 with 19 balls left to give Kolkata Knight Riders the victory.
