Result:

South Africa Innings:
Chasing England’s total, South Africa reached the target in just 20.5 overs, losing three wickets. Aiden Markram and Ryan Rickelton formed a strong opening partnership, accumulating 121 runs. Markram scored 86 runs off 55 balls, hitting 2 sixes and 13 fours. After South Africa’s score reached 131, they lost two wickets in consecutive deliveries. Adil Rashid took three wickets for England. When South Africa needed just one run to clinch victory, Dewald Brevis struck a six, allowing South Africa to win with 175 balls to spare. A total of 272 balls were bowled throughout this match, making it the second-shortest match by balls between the two teams in ODI history. The shortest match in terms of balls bowled in an ODI occurred in 2008 in Nottingham, where only 223 balls were bowled in a match between these two sides.
