IPL 2024 Match 62 – Royal Challengers Bengaluru Vs Delhi Capitals

The 62nd Match of IPL 2024 was held at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals. As Rishabh Pant was suspended for one match for slow over-rate, Axar Patel replaced him as captain for this match. Delhi Capitals won the toss and chose to bowl.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru Innings:

Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis came to open for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Faf du Plessis was dismissed in the third over by Mukesh Kumar. Virat Kohli started playing well. Virat Kohli hit 1 four and a six in the first 2 balls of the fourth over off Ishant Sharma but got out on the fourth ball and was caught by Abishek Porel. Virat Kohli scored 27 runs off 13 balls with 1 four and 3 sixes. After that, Rajat Patidar, who has been in great form in this IPL, was batting brilliantly. At the end of the first 6 overs of the powerplay, Royal Challengers Bengaluru scored 61 runs for 2 wickets.

Rajat Patidar and Will Jacks were looking very aggressive against the spinners, especially against Kuldeep Yadav. Cameron Green played well after that. Cameron Green and Mahipal Lomror made a partnership of 37 runs. Mahipal Lomror got out for 13 off Khaleel Ahmed in the 18th over. Khaleel Ahmed took another wicket in this over, he dismissed Dinesh Karthik for 0 runs. In the next over, Swapnil Singh was dismissed by Rasikh Dar Salam. Royal Challengers Bengaluru lost 3 consecutive wickets for just 2 runs that time. Cameron Green scored an unbeaten 32 off 24 balls, hitting 1 four and 2 sixes. Delhi Capitals Innings:

Two Australian players David Warner and Jake Fraser-McGurk came to open for Delhi Capitals. David Warner came as an impact substitute for Delhi Capitals. David Warner was dismissed in the first over by Swapnil Singh. Jake Fraser-McGurk started the innings in a very aggressive fashion. Yash Dayal bowled brilliantly in the third over of the innings, he took 1 wicket with only 4 runs in this over. Abishek Porel was dismissed on the first ball of the over. Jake Fraser-McGurk was run out unfortunately on the next ball. He scored 21 runs off 8 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes. Delhi Capitals got another wicket in the next over. Kumar Kushagrawas dismissed by Mohammed Siraj. Mohammed Siraj bowled brilliantly in this over, he took 1 wicket with only 2 runs. After that, Shai Hope and Axar Patel started building the innings. Shai Hope hit three spectacular fours off Yash Dayal in the fifth over. In the sixth over, Axar Patel hit 2 great fours off Mohammed Siraj. After 6 overs of powerplay, Delhi Capitals scored 54 runs for 4 wickets.

Axar Patel and Shai Hope put on a partnership of 56 runs off 36 balls. Lockie Ferguson broke this partnership in the tenth over. He dismissed Shai Hope. Shai Hope scored 29 off 23 balls with 4 fours. At the end of 10 overs, Delhi Capitals scored 87 runs for 5 wickets.

Delhi Capitals lost another wicket in the eleventh over. Royal Challengers Bengaluru were not missing any opportunity. Cameron Green dismissed Tristan Stubbs on a direct throw. Axar Patel, however, played very well at the other end. Axar Patel hit a six in the thirteenth over and scored fifty in 30 balls. Delhi Capitals lost their seventh wicket in the 15th over. Cameron Green dismissed Rasikh Dar Salam. He scored 10 runs. After 15 overs, Delhi Capitals scored 127 runs for 7 wickets.

Delhi Capitals needed 61 runs to win in the last 5 overs with 3 wickets in hand. But in the 16th over, Axar Patel was dismissed by Yash Dayal. Axar Patel scored 57 runs off 39 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes. After that, Delhi Capitals’ innings ended at 140 runs in 19.1 overs and Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the match by 47 runs.

For Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Yash Dayal took 3 wickets, Lockie Ferguson took 2 wickets and Cameron Green, Mohammed Siraj, and Swapnil Singh took 1 wicket each.
