The fourth match of IPL 2024 was between Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Rajasthan Royals won the toss and chose to bat.
Rajasthan Royals Innings:
Rajasthan Royals didn’t get off to a good start as Jos Buttler got out on the last ball of the second over, was dismissed by Naveen-ul-Haq and caught by Rahul. After that, Sanju Samson came to bat and he played amazingly. He first put on a partnership of 36 runs off 18 balls with Yashasvi Jaiswal. Lucknow Super Giants Innings:
Lucknow Super Giants didn’t get off to a good start as Quinton de Kock was dismissed by Trent Boult in the first over. Trent Boult was a bit lucky though as the ball was right on Quinton de Kock’s pad and Quinton de Kock’s shot went straight to Nandre Burger. In the third over, Trent Boult again dismissed Devdutt Padikkal for zero runs. In the next over, another wicket fell, this time Nandre Burger was dismissed and he was dismissed by Ayush Badoni and caught by Jos Buttler.
After the fall of 3 wickets for just 11 runs, captain KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda put on a partnership of 49 runs off 26 balls. In the eighth over, Deepak Hooda got out off Yuzvendra Chahal and was caught by Dhruv Jurel. He scored 26 off 13 balls and he hit 2 fours and 2 sixes. Nicholas Pooran came in to bat next, he provided good support to KL Rahul and made a partnership of 85 runs off 52 balls with KL Rahul.
Sandeep Sharma dismissed KL Rahul first ball of 17th over. KL Rahul scored a brilliant half century, he scored 58 runs in 44 balls and he hit 4 fours and 2 sixes. Nicholas Puran scored an unbeaten 64 off 41 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes but it was not enough to win the match. At the end of 20 overs, Lucknow Super Giants scored 173 runs for the loss of 6 wickets and lost the match by 20 runs.
